FTP (File Transfer Protocol), is among the most famous methods of sending web files between a computer system and a web server. Using an FTP program like FileZilla, you can establish a connection to your website hosting account and drag ‘n’ drop files or whole folders in either direction and the software itself will do all the rest. There are several advantages of using File Transfer Protocol, among them the possibility to resume a download/upload when there’s some problem with the connection and the possibility to create different FTP accounts. Thanks to the latter option, you can set up FTP users that can connect only to specific folders in your hosting account, but no other folders, email accounts or other information, which makes it the ideal option particularly if you need to grant a web designer access, for example. You can also use an FTP account with famous website building tools such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage and upload the sites that you have created directly from them, without having to resort to third-party software.

FTP Accounts in Web Hosting

Our web hosting packages will allow you to set up multiple FTP accounts with only several clicks of the mouse from the Hepsia Control Panel and to select what website files and folders each account can connect to. There is no upper limit on the total number of FTP accounts that you can create, so you’ll be able to have as many as you wish at any given time. If you don’t want to use a specific FTP account anymore or in case a designer has done their task and you don’t want them to connect to your website content any longer, you can simply delete that account. The FTP section of the Hepsia Control Panel will permit you to see all currently existing FTP accounts shown alphabetically, along with various options, which you can access with one mouse click. You will be able to update the password and the access path, to download an auto-config file, etc. We also have an in-depth Help database, which can help you administer your FTP accounts if you encounter any difficulty.
